Welcome to Late to the Sail Away — the home of our cruising adventures, tips, reviews and everything we’re learning along the way.

We’re Paul and Lee, a couple who have been sailing through life together since 2008. Strangely enough, we didn’t take our first cruise until December 2023… and from the moment we stepped on board, we were hooked.

What started as a holiday quickly turned into a full-blown passion, and by our second cruise in January 2025 we knew this was something we wanted to share with others.

We’re here to entertain, educate, and have fun, while building a community of people who share the same excitement for cruise travel — whether you’re planning your first sailing or your fiftieth.

Our dream is simple: to grow Late to the Sail Away into something big enough to turn our passion for cruising into a full-time adventure.

Late to the Sail Away was born for two reasons.

Firstly, we realised we had almost no photos or videos from our early travels — and we didn’t want our cruise memories to fade the same way.

Secondly, we discovered how much we loved talking about cruising, researching ships, planning trips, and helping others get the most out of their own holidays.

Through our videos and content, you’ll come along with us as we:
